Stars Behavioral Health Group (SBHG) chose the Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure flexibility, speed of implementation, and enhanced security.
SBHG is an American company that has been providing mental health care and social services in the state of California since 1988. They serve more than 30,000 clients through more than 50 programs. The company employs over 1,700 professionals at 45 locations.
SBHG faced the challenge and need to build a new virtual data center in Azure. It was necessary to verify the feasibility of migration scenarios and ensure disaster recovery for critical applications and data. The existing infrastructure was not flexible or secure enough, which limited SBHG’s ability to respond quickly to changing needs and ensure service continuity. It was also important to reduce capital expenditures (CAPEX) and improve capacity planning.
To address these issues, we created an Azure landing zone in the West US region, which provides a secure and scalable environment for running SBHG’s applications. We configured Azure Site Recovery and tested failover operations to ensure that critical applications would remain available even in the event of an outage. The integration of Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics into existing processes has enabled SBHG to gain better visibility into the performance and security of their systems. The technologies used included Azure Site Recovery, Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and MSSQL Always-On Cluster.
For the SBHG migration to Azure, we utilized several key technologies and services that ensured the successful implementation and operation of their systems.
Azure Site Recovery: This service enables the replication of virtual machines and physical servers to Azure, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
Azure Monitor: Azure Monitor provides comprehensive monitoring and diagnostics for applications and infrastructure, allowing you to track performance and identify issues.
Azure Log Analytics: This service enables the collection and analysis of logs from various sources, facilitating their centralization and analysis.
MSSQL Always-On Cluster: A technology that enables database replication across multiple servers, ensuring high availability and reliability of database services.
The migration to Azure brought several key benefits to SBHG. The flexibility and speed of implementation enabled SBHG to respond more quickly to changing needs and ensure service continuity. Enhanced security and cost control were another significant benefit provided by the Azure platform. Thanks to the migration to Azure, SBHG was able to reduce capital expenditures (CAPEX) and improve capacity planning, enabling the company to utilize and plan its resources more efficiently.
Stars Behavioral Health Group was thrilled with the flexibility and speed that the Azure platform implementation provided. Increased security and better cost control were key benefits for SBHG that significantly improved their operations. Overall, the migration to Azure was deemed a great success that contributed to the further development and efficiency of their services.
