Senior Consultant – SQL, SharePoint
Job description
- responsible for ensuring high availability and performance of MS SQL 2008 databases
- proactively monitor database systems to ensure services with minimum downtime and appropriate performance
- plan for future database growth, estimate future server and storage needs
- responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases
- technical support and installations for core business applications
- ensure SQL and application security
Requirements
- BE or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred
- experience with architecting and implementing high availability/data redundancy scenarios, such as database mirroring, replication, clustering and log shipping
- in depth SQL Server database administration experience (SQL 2008 / min 2 years)
- excellent understanding of partitioning, indexing and query performance
- exceptional troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- practical experience in monitoring and tuning databases to provide high availability
- understanding of, and experience with, server-client and 3-tier computing and relational database environments
- analytical skills, good communicative skills, willingness to learn new things, proactive approach, carefulness
- able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- communicative knowledge of English language
- ability to work well as part of a team
